Models have no talent – what a load of rubbish! Just as in any profession, there are plenty of people who are absolutely amazing at what they do. If you’re an aspiring model, you’ll know full well that it can be a challenge to make it to the top, and that’s because you need a lot of talent (among other things).

Of course, in addition to talent you need a particular look. Now that’s just the luck of the draw! You need to look a certain way; be that beautiful, unique, or interesting, but at the end of the day, you have to work to get noticed. That in itself is a talent.

If models have no talent, they wouldn’t be able to:

• Pose in tons of different ways, always taking direction from the photographer or the person in charge of their assignment.
• Always pull themselves together to ensure they’re feeling at the top of their game, even if they’re working long hours.
• Look after their bodies. It’s an art form in itself these days, as there are so many distractions which leave all of us not doing the right thing by ourselves. Models eat a balanced diet, get plenty of hydration, and the best ones also ensure they get plenty of sleep.
• Market themselves. Lots of men and women are attractive. Models work with the necessary channels to promote themselves, be that with their portfolios, or at castings.
• Work all over the world, for days at a time. It can be hard, and often, they don’t get to see family and friends or get much rest.

There are loads of other things that counteract the myth that models have no talent, and the list is endless.

Why Do People Say That Models Have No Talent?

At the end of the day in modelling, a lot of things are fuelled by jealousy. Don’t play into this by perpetuating this further. Of course, talent is subjective, so comparing models to someone who’s talented in another field is just futile.

However, a model’s success is dictated by the market, and so if there are people willing to pay the price, models have to ensure they’re on top of their game, so it’s them picked for the best opportunities, over anybody else!
