Register online.
Despite being in Coventry, UK Models are able to start working with you the moment you register online and express an interest in the industry. Here to help you understand the various opportunities available to you (from catalogue, high-end fashion, commercial and beauty through to real, fitness and classic modelling) we will work with you to explore your talents and full modelling potential.
Regardless of your sex, age or ambition, our experience of working with thousands of other models allows us to offer you the best in terms of information and advice. So whether you’re in Earlsdon, Canley, Whitley or Radford, we can assist you.
Fill in the registration from correctly.
UK Models are able to start a working relationship with you almost immediately. Thanks to our online registration form, by simply logging onto the Internet and providing us with some basic information about yourself, we are able to start the advisory process off.
Firstly we will require your contact information so that we can get in touch if we think you’ve got modelling potential.
Secondly a recent photograph of yourself so that we can get an idea of your look and ultimately what style of modelling we think you should consider exploring.
Thirdly, we need to know your age.
When will I hear back?
Once we have received this information a member of our New Faces team will get in contact with you and if you’re successful, invite you to one of our initial assessment days. This may sound scary but it’s really not; this is just your chance to come down from Coventry to our London studios and work with a professional team in a modelling environment.
Travel to London.
Train: A direct train takes little over an hour arriving every 30 minutes. A very efficient service that will be easy to use as a commute regularly if necessary. Arriving at London Euston take a short 13 minute walk to Great Portland Street ready to begin the assessment day.
Car: Driving takes approximately 1 hour and 43 minutes, which is a very manageable drive for the morning. However, consider rush hour and schedule extra time for possible traffic delays as the route to London can get extremely busy. There are many car parks around the area but think about the cost to avoid a large fee at the end of the day.
Coach: Travelling by coach could be a little trickier as there are only a select few scheduled to arrive in London. The most direct is the 5:45 coach to London Baker Street Station taking just over 2 hours. Walk 13 minutes to arrive at Great Portland Street. A cheaper yet limited alternative to the train.
The assessment day explained.
After having your hair and make-up done, a high-end photographer will take a series of pictures to firstly see how you respond to the camera (giving us a better idea of your suitability for modelling) and secondly, to give you the experience of a professional shoot. Together this will help UK Models tailor our advise and create an industry portfolio for you.
Leave with a professional portfolio.
Once we have explained to you what areas of modelling you need to work on and what quirks you have that agencies and brands will love to see, we will guide you through the process of creating a portfolio.
By the end of the day you will leave with at least one of the following; a traditional book portfolio, an e-folio (a personal website containing your photos and information) a set of Z-cards (business cards featuring a selection of your best pictures and statistics) or a disk containing your professional images (great if you see yourself needing re-prints).
Is a portfolio important?
Without one, particularly the book portfolio, future clients will not be able to gauge your modelling capabilities and will be very unlikely to employ you. Thanks to our up to date knowledge of what agencies are looking for, UK Models will work alongside you to create a professional portfolio that you can take back to Coventry with you at the end of your assessment day.
Your future career.
Together with that and the experiences and information that our qualified and talented team will have shared with you, you will now be in the best position to pursue a modelling career, whether you decide to do that in Coventry, here in London or maybe even overseas. There is no set formula for models to abide by as the industry is constantly evolving.
Depending on the niche you wish to pursue modelling can take you all around the country as well as around the world. Travel is a big part of the model lifestyle with many opportunities arising in large cities that attract creatives. If you do decide to relocate to London ensure that you plan ahead to avoid feeling lost and alone. It may be the step that ignites your career.
